ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Bhavya Kumar. I'm in middle school and enjoy reading and writing books. Books are a huge part of my personality and have truly made me who I am. My passion for reading has led me to read anywhere and everywhere. And when I say everywhere, I mean everywhere. I've been known to read books in the bathroom and at the dining table. I created this blog to channel my love of reading towards something that wasn't reading and to help fellow book lovers like me.
My reading journey started when I was a few months old. I would pick up picture books and "read" them. And by read, I mean hold them upside down and look at the pictures. I continued this course of action until I learned how to read. At age 3 and a half, I began reading books such as "The Cat in The Hat," and have vivid memories of me telling other kids to read it as well. Slowly, I progressed to reading larger books. In fact, I read my first chapter book ("The Trouble With Tink" by Kiki Thorpe in kindergarten. One chapter book led to another, and soon I was reading classics such as "Great Expectations" and "Oliver Twist."
My love of reading led to a passion for writing. I have always loved writing and thought of it as exercise for my brain. Writing, for me, is a way to express my feelings on subjects. It is an art form. Not many can manage to do it. Writing has always been my escape from regular life. I find it is very easy for me to write my feelings away. If I feel sad, I write a poem. If I feel anxious or overwhelmed, I can write a story. The best part of writing is that you can do anything with it.
In my free time, I prefer to read, paint, sing, dance, play piano, and/or swim. I am a competitive swimmer and my favorite stroke is breaststroke. Painting, singing, and dancing are other ways for me to deal with anxiety and stress. I have been playing piano since I was 5 years old,
